Liturgical Year

As our church has moved to the Lectionary for it’s Sunday Worship, we encourage you to spend time getting to know the Lectionary and to utilize it for use in Sunday School lessons and in small group studies. Listed below are our Seasons names for the year. By clicking a Season’s name you will be taken to a page where various resources are available to help you plan lessons and discussions that are interesting to you and your particular class. We encourage you to join us on this journey!

What is the Lectionary?
The lectionary is a plan for churches to use the entire Bible in worship over a three year period. This year, 2014 (beginning with Advent of 2013), is Year A. Each week, the church services are designed around these texts (One Old Testament, One Wisdom Text, One Gospel, and One New Testament). The complete lectionary is available here: Revised Common Lectionary

Our Seasons this year are:

Reclaiming Holiness (Lent & Easter, March 9 – April 20)

Footsteps & Footprints (April 27 – June 1)

Transitions in Grace (Pentecost and forward, June 8 – August 31)

Heritage & Hope (September 7 – November 23)
